Today, the federal government requires some companies to meet the following goals:
• Woman owned (5%)
• Veteran owned / disabled veterans (3%)
• Hub zone Businesses (3%)
• Traditional minority owned businesses (5.5%)
Minorities now represent 29% of the population in the U.S. and is expected to grow to 40 % in the next thirty years. Some 12 million minority and woman owned businesses generate over 4 trillion dollars in sales each year and employ about 28 million people across the country.
